Sesleria 'Greenlee Hybrid'
Greenlee Hybrid Moor Grass
Description
This plant was discovered in my old Pomona nursery in 2005 as a chance seedling. Its compact habit, dependable nature, and rich green color have put it on the top of designers' plant lists in both the US and Europe. When I saw it in the grass collection at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and at Wisley in England, I felt like I was getting a star on Hollywood Boulevard. Drop the mic, I'm done!
This is one of the best "go-to" groundcover grasses for meadow making. Flowers are noticeable when they emerge in the spring, and then fade to neat tidy tan spikes that are attractive on the plants till the fall. It's a great groundcover grass massed or in groups or drifts. Especially good for small gardens and along pathways and meadow edges. Works well in coastal gardens. It is the perfect grass to interplant with spring bulbs.
