Muhlenbergia sericea 'White Cloud'
White Awn Muhly
Description
Muhlenbergia sericea 'White Cloud' is a discovery from my old Greenlee Nursery. Its soft, blue-green foliage is topped by vertical foxtails that are showy on the plant from fall well into winter. The flowers emerge iridescent creamy pink and dry to an attractive tan color. One of the longest-blooming fountain grasses, Muhlenbergia sericea 'White Cloud' is one of the first flowering muhlys to bloom in the spring. With 2-3 feet tall foliage and flowers held 2 to 3 feet above that, its upright habit works well in large drifts. Plant in an exposed sunny area for a wonderful backlit effect where it can catch the breeze.
