Carex 'Pomona'
Pomona Hybrid Sedge
Description
This fine-leafed dark green clumping sedge makes a fountain of grassy texture that catches the breeze, and your eye. Most grasses with foliage this fine are delicate and fussy to grow, but not this one. The Pomona Sedge is tidy and good-looking even after flowering since the seed heads are slender and never messy on the plant.
This plant originated as a chance seedling in the meadow amphitheater in the Greenlee Pomona Garden Gallery. It was one of those, "Hey, where did THAT come from?" moments.
